Licensing of activities related to natural gas is regulated by the Natural Gas Market Regulation Laws and Licensed Regulations. This law and regulation can be found in the Legislation section.
According to paragraph (1) of article 8 of the Natural Gas Market Law, any person to carry out any of the following activities related to natural gas must be first licensed by the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) :

Construction and / or operation of natural gas and / or storage facilities and / or pipeline networks, pipelines and related equipment;

Implementation of any of the responsibilities of the owner of a natural gas installation and / or storage facility and / or pipeline networks, pipelines and related equipment;

Performance of any of the functions of system management;

Supply of natural gas, including to wholesale customers;

Supply of natural gas to eligible customers;

Supply of natural gas to non-eligible customers;

Implementing any of the responsibilities of the network manager for the import / storage / transmission / distribution of natural gas network;

Perform any of the responsibilities of the owner of the network for the import / storage / transmission / distribution of natural gas.
In accordance with Article 9, any Application for Submission shall be submitted to CERA in accordance with the rules provided in the Licensing Regulations.
